Ren Ming Young (born 1985) is a Chinese writer, theatre director and singer-songwriter.
As one of the most important Chinese theatre practitioners of his generation, Ren Ming Young belongs to the innovators who have been devoted to transforming Huaju (modern Chinese drama, a Western-imported theatrical form) to an “indigenous” Chinese art form and re-examining its traditions and conventions. Beneath the naturalistic surfaces, his productions portray the everyday life in China nowadays and often involve investigations into social legacy and individual choice.
